Sydney Miller

Sydney Miller

Sydney Miller is a new addition to the PHS counseling team. After completing her B.A. in Anthropology at UC Santa Cruz, Sydney spent a few years working internationally. Opportunities leading service learning trips with high schoolers,  teaching English in Spain and leading a Gap Semester program in South East Asian fostered Sydney's approach to working with many different cultural groups in urban and remote locations. Sydney returned to the USA to complete her Masters of Counseling and PPS credential at Sonoma State University in 2021. In her free time Sydney enjoys walking her dog, trying new foods and spending time with family.  She is excited to be here at Piner High School and looks forward to supporting the 9th grade students!

Eleane Becerra

Eleane Becerra

Eleane Becerra has been a counselor at Piner High School since 2018. Being a Piner graduate herself, she is excited to be back to support students and families navigate the education system and achieve their goals! After graduating from PHS, she attended Sacramento State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies (Chicano/a Studies) and her Master’s degree in School Counseling. She worked with students all over the Sacramento area as a MEAP advisor with Migrant Ed and as a Counseling Intern. In her spare time, Eleane enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, attending concerts, and going to soccer and baseball games.

Casey Carl

Casey Carl

Casey Carl has found her second home here at Piner High School and has been here since 2015. She values Piner for the family community that it has and the incredible diversity that flourishes and enriches the school climate here. Casey has worked for the Santa Rosa City School District since 2008 when she started at an Alternative School, Mesa High School, on the campus of Santa Rosa High School. Casey has 3 children. She has worked in Group Homes, Marin County Probation, Special Education, and as a Home Hospital Teacher. Casey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Multicultural Studies and Psychology and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Marriage, Family, and Children. She has a Pupil Personnel Services Credential and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. In her free time, she loves to read, garden and cook for her family and friends. Casey loves living here in the wine country of Northern California. She loves holidays and keeping traditions going with her family.

Karol Ramirez

Karol Ramirez

Karol Ramirez has been a counselor at Piner High School since 2015. Karol attended Sonoma State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a Minor in Spanish and a Masters degree in School Counseling. She began working with students during her undergraduate years at SSU as a group tour coordinator and admissions assistant. Since then Karol has worked with students throughout Sonoma and Napa Counties; she has been a MEAP Advisor for Migrant Ed, counseling intern for Sonoma Valley middle and high school, and the SOAR Program Coordinator at ALDEA Napa, where she helped establish the early detection of psychosis program. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family. She enjoys hiking with her two dogs, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

Johana Perdomo

Johana Perdomo

Ms. Johana Perdomo is very excited to join the counseling team at Piner High School! She attended Santa Rosa Junior College for three years and transferred to the University of California, Davis. There she earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Chicano/a Studies. She worked with high school students in Sonoma County and then decided to continue her education at the University of San Francisco, she graduated with her Masters in Counseling Psychology and Clinical Counseling.  She loves working with high school students, so make sure to stop by and say hi! When she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and dogs.

Selena Aguilar

Selena Aguilar 

Hi all! I am the 2022-2023 new Intern Counselor from the University of San Francisco. I am getting my masters in Clinical Psychology and chose to be placed at Piner High School for my High School placement. I am looking forward to being a part of the Prospector community! I graduated from San Diego State with my B.S/B.A. in Psychology while minoring in Child Development. I enjoy working with students of all grade levels and provide social-emotional support. I also provide one or one or group counseling sessions with students of all demographics and will be implementing a Make It Happen curriculum to academically support students. I am a big foodie, Grey’s Anatomy fanatic and Winter is my favorite season.

Bianna Marr

Brianna Marr

Brianna Marr is an intern counselor this year at Piner High School. She was born and raised in Sonoma County and graduated from Analy High School. She then went on to attend UC Santa Cruz, earning her B.A. in Legal Studies & Education. While in Santa Cruz Brianna volunteered with legal advocacy non-profits and local high schools, quickly realizing working with youth was her passion. She is currently in the process of obtaining a Masters in Counseling from Sonoma State University. Brianna was previously the SAY Work-Based Coordinator at Piner from 2018-2020! She is so excited to be back in her hometown aiding students in their future endeavors! Brianna will be on campus every Wednesday and Thursday.

Melissa

Melissa Salini ASW

Melissa Salini is one of the newest additions to the PHS Counseling Department as our School-based Therapist.  Melissa joins our community with well over a decade of experience working with youth and their families as a social worker and as a clinician.  Melissa has had the honor and privilege to work with youth in a variety of settings including; residential treatment centers and school-based wellness centers.  Melissa has enjoyed co-facilitating recreational therapies like animal-assisted groups, hiking in our beautiful parks, and kayaking around Spring Lake.  Melissa has earned her Bachelor's, Master's and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Cal Poly Humboldt.  In her free time she loves building out her tiny home, volunteering in the community, and hiking through the redwoods with loved ones.
